Supply Chain Disruption

Dale Wilson

As reported from CTV News:  TORONTO -- Nearly 9,000 Canadian Border Service Agency workers have begun labour actions across the country.

PSAC, the union representing customs officers tweeted on Friday morning “Our FB bargaining team has been at the table all night, and we're giving them a bit more time to negotiate. In the meantime, work-to-rule actions have started across the country. We'll provide an update as soon as possible.

Unfortunately the wet plate community is so small in Canada, domestic distributors have declined to provide competitive wholesale pricing. As a result essentially all of the products Antique Pictureology retails comes by way of the USA.

As a result of the CBSA labour actions this will have a negative effect on our supply chain. Consequently, you may soon see items “out of stock” as you visit our little store.

The pandemic has meant we have been unable to do our own brokerage resulting in significant landed cost increases from both brokerage and shipping increases. We have absorbed those costs in order to continue supplying the Canadian market and do our part during trying times. Now, it would appear, our supply chain is being disrupted.

As we have done in the past, please know we will be seeking solutions in order that you may have a source for your required product. We want to continue our service to Canadian wet plate photographers, but ask for your patience as we maneuver a challenge beyond our control.

We will provide updates as new information emerges.

As always, thank you for your continued support.
